Milk chocolate, yum!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lycra Wear in 462 Milk Chocolate
I don't know about you, but I like my milk chocolate to be brown, not beige -.-"
Nonetheless, this is such a pretty colour. It required two coats for opacity, applied with a little bit of difficulty (as I seem to have with most light coloured cream polishes) and wasn't a particularly fast drier. The picture below is the best representation of colour, which is a pinkish beige cream. Nice neutral work-friendly colour!
I picked up Milk Chocolate at a discount cosmetics shop for AUD$4, because it looked so similar to another Rimmel polish, Beige Style, I had purchased THAT SAME DAY for AUD$9! If they accepted returns in Australia for cosmetics, I so would have refunded/exchanged Beige Style. I believe that Milk Chocolate is discontinued, and Beige Style is the new shade (according to the Rimmel Australia website anyway).

Milk Chocolate is slightly (very slightly) more pink than Beige Style, but other than that the colour and formula are pretty much a dupe. BUT, the major difference is the brush. Rimmel have decided that fatter brushes are better than regular brushes... I personally cannot use fat brushes, I end up with clumpy uneven application. I guess it is really just personal preference, or maybe I'm just not skilled enough. I've tried the Beige Style, and I had to even it out with a really thick coat of Seche Vite.

Description from Rimmel's website for the Lycra PRO:
NEW! The 1st professional nail polish from RIMMEL Professional finish effortlessly! “Ultimate” Maxi brush for an ultimate mistake-free application. The inimitable combination of the superior formula with Lycra® technology + Maxi brush innovation guarantees perfect coverage for superior shine & wear.

So, though they come in pretty colours I will not be purchasing any more of Rimmel's new Lycra PRO polishes because of the Maxi brush.

Glitter. SQUEEEEEEE

Lately I've been attracted to glittery/foil nail polish. Normally, I don't like glitter too much because of the effort required to remove it (which is why I only did 1 nail on my left hand and 2 nails on my right hand with the foil). Ever since this fail, I've been wary of cheap foil nail polish. A friend recommended this one though, so I had high expectations.

BK Nail Polish Fashion Color in Dark Blue (the foil)
Only two coats for full coverage, but I did have to put on a thick coat of Seche Vite to smooth out the gritty surface. In real life the bottle pulls a little navy, but on the nail this picture is a good representation. It has large chunky silver/holo glitter, as well as small silver and blue glitter. It dried quickly which I approve of. As with all foils however, a pain in the butt to remove!

Etude House Petit Darling Nails HD Beam in BL504 Star Ultra Marine (seriously, who comes up with these names in Korea? such a mouthful!)
I got this polish a while ago, and have worn it before, but never posted it. The name of the shade fits it perfectly, it is a marine blue. In the bottle it has tiny purple and navy shimmers, but once on the nail I can hardly notice the purple. It comes across as a slight blue shimmer. Two coats for this photo as well, great consistency and fast drying.

That's all folks!

OMFG my shoes arrived!!

Aren't they gorgeous? I've been lemming them ever since they popped up on the Tony Bianco website, but $189.95 felt wayyyy overpriced for my poor uni student budget (mind you, at one stage I nearly pressed checkout). For boxing day sales, these babies went down to $60!! I couldn't resist, so I ordered them. That was Christmas night, and what feels like twenty years later finally they arrived this morning. I've been wearing them around the house, they're a tad loose but who cares right? In real life they're slightly darker than the picture, which I prefer.

Anyway, I'm falling behind on my nail posts so here it is!
Face of Australia LUXE Nail Enamel in Foxy Roxy

Face of Australia LUXE Nail Enamel in Minty Mojito

I received these as Christmas presents from the lovely SilhouetteScreams along with two other polishes and a Concrete Minerals voucher. *kisses cheek* My friends know what colours I like in terms of nail polish, so of course they picked taupe and mint xD

Three coats for both shades, and the formula of both are pretty good. I needed three coats because the first two coats were a tad streaky. But overall, easy application and fairly fast drying. I love the names of the shades, Foxy Roxy and Minty Mojito, they're so cute!

As for the colour, the pictures are pretty good representations of what it looks like in real life. I mean come on, TAUPE and MINT. Aren't they just gorgeous colours?

I don't take photos of my eyeballs usually, and all of these photos are thanks to SilhouetteScreams snapping away at the midnight fireworks.

This is for my own record really, since I know its horrendous. I'm still learning, so I need to keep track of what products I used!

Welcoming ZOLL

ZOLL is what jkimisyellow on youtube decided 2011 should be. He is so funny, I'm going to make him marry me even if he is gay. Anyway...

Because I never follow through with new year's resolutions, the only new year's resolution I'm going to set for ZOLL is this:

NEVER USE CUTICLE NIPPER AGAIN!!
It's so bad for the cuticles, but its a habit difficult to break. I've been trying hard to avoid it lately, so I hope to never touch it again.

Anyone wanna share their new year's resolutions?
